My Name is Sally Hunter (nee Foster). I am a dual Olympian who represented Australia as an elite swimmer for over a decade. I competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, in the 2006 and 2014 Commonwealth Games, and four World Championships. I was on the Australian Swimming Team leadership group over four years. Upon my retirement, I became a Board Director with Swimming South Australia. Having returned to my native Western Australia, I now run a Mentoring and Coaching business.

I am passionate about women in sport and leadership and was a member of the South Australian Women in Sport Task Force. I love people. I love sharing my story and listening to the stories of others. Sport - and particularly swimming is my passion. My family run the Central Aquatic Swimming Club. My mum was an amazing swimmer and now a great coach. My great aunt Evelyn De Lacy swam at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. I published our comparative Olympic diaries with Wakefield Press (published in 2014).

I am Western Australian. I accepted a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport in 2004 and remained there until 2012. Though I was told multiple times that I should "retire" and "give others a go" at making the team post the London Olympics. Instead, I moved to Adelaide to train at the South Australian Sport Institute under Peter Bishop. Within six months, I won both the 200 and 100 metre breaststroke, for the first time. I then won a silver medal at the 2013 Barcelona World Championships.

I am a published author, My book, 'Born To Swim' the Diaries of Sally Foster and Evelyn de Lacy, Olympic Swimmers. I wanted our stories to inspire young people to set goals and achieve them.

In 2016, I retired. I now have my own mentoring business, I am married and am the mother of two beautiful boys, Theodore and Aurelien. I think I have a great story to tell, and I want to hear the stories of others.
