The record books confirm Mark Skaife as the most successful driver in Australian Touring Cars/ V8 Supercars history. During his 22 years behind the wheel he has accomplished unparalleled motorsport achievements – five time Championship winner, six Bathurst 1000 victories, three Australian Drivers Championships and the all-time record for Round/Race wins which stood for many years and only surpassed in mid 2013 by Craig Lowndes. He also enjoyed great success as a team owner during this period with two of the sport’s factory race teams, Gibson Motorsport (Nissan) from 1990 to 1997 and later the Holden Racing Team between 2003 and 2008.

After retiring from full time racing in 2008, Mark was appointed an Independent Director of V8 Supercars Australia and joined the V8 Supercars TV commentary team. Developing the concept and project managing the V8 Supercars ‘Car of the Future’ program, Mark has led an influx of new manufacturers into the Championship including Nissan, Mercedes-Benz and most recently Volvo in joining Ford and Holden. He served as the inaugural Chairman of the V8 Supercars Commission until the end of 2013.

In 2014, Mark was recognised for his contribution and achievements in V8 Supercars by being inducted into the V8 Supercars Hall of Fame alongside the sports great champions.

Mark is Chairman of the CAMS National Track Safety Advisory Committee (NTSAC) and designer of the most recent V8 Supercars street circuits in Townsville, Sydney and the revised layout on the Gold Coast and New Zealand.

He is also a Director of the CAMS Foundation, which aims to help talented young Australian drivers reach the pinnacle of motor sport in their chosen category and raise Australia’s profile on the world stage.

Mark’s motor industry credentials are impeccable and is an active advisor to various companies and motoring groups regarding road safety, vehicle dynamics and driver training.

In 2004 Mark was awarded the Medal of the Order Of Australia for his services to motor racing and the community.
