William Pike is a champion Perth jockey who grew up in Coolgardie, an isolated outback town in WA's goldfields. When he was a youngster he thought he would become an underground miner but he went to a bush racing carnival and decided he wanted to be a jockey.He has now won nine Perth riding titles and rode more winners than any other Australian jockey in the 2016-17 season (197.5 winners).The jockey nicknamed the "Wizard'' has won five Group I's and only once in the last 10 seasons has he ridden less than 100 winners.
