BIOGRAPHY
2013 was another great season for Brett playing all 23 games averaging 24 disposals and finishing fourth in the Tigers best and fairest, his 6th top-four finish in a row. This was off the back of Brett’s best season in 2012. Playing predominately as a midfielder he averaged 27.5 possessions and kicked 17 goals and was rewarded with a spot in the 2012 All Australian team. Brett continued his good form in 2014 averaging 25.5 and 5.5 marks as well as kicking 20 goals for the year. Brett was selected by Richmond with the first selection in the 2004 National Draft and had an outstanding debut season which culminated in receiving the NAB Rising Star award and being selected to play for Australia in the 2005 International Rules series against Ireland. Brett established himself as an elite player in the AFL competition with back-to-back Richmond best and fairest awards in 2008 & 2009, a third-place finish in 2010, and a second-place finish in 2011 & 2012.
In 2016 he shocked Richmond by requesting a trade away to GWS Giants in search of premierships. Unfortunately, Brett’s time in GWS never got to the same heights as before, hampered by injuries throughout; keeping him out of the AFL Grand Final in 2019. He has decided to call quits to his illustrious career.
