Being born on the Gold Coast, Rhys Nicholls started out his junior AFL days at the Labrador Football Club. Rhys' draft year was heavily affected by COVID, he continued to showcase his talent in the Gold Coast Suns Academy & Labrador’s QAFL Team.
Boasting elite speed and clean ball use, the Gold Coast local was rookie-listed ahead of the 2021 season. Nicholls has showcased his versatility, spending time in defence and on the wing in the VFL, and can be used as a run-and-carry type.
Rhys has yet to debut for the Suns but is continuing to knock on the door and work for his opportunity at the highest level.

Interest & Hobbies
Recently, Nicholls has started his own business, called ‘uncco’, around a passion outside of football, reselling footwear & streetwear.
