Josh Reid Jones is a social impact professional and social entrepreneur. From a childhood marked by poverty, violence, and challenging circumstances to a purpose-led life, founding the Just Be Nice project with the aim of changing the way that people help people; until they are housed, employed, and have positive mental health outcomes. Josh has been relentless in his pursuit of creating an environment that ensures people in need, get the help that they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it, regardless of how they come to need help.
Regarded for his practical insights, relatable style, compassion and experience in the mental health, employment, education, development, equality of opportunity, housing and social impact sectors – Josh is a master communicator and educator. From the building site to the boardroom, and across a range of industries he is able to bring practical experience to professional insight and bridge the gap between social responsibility and corporate accountability to commercial outcomes. Josh extensively consults and mentors businesses and entrepreneurs, both non-profit and for-profit entities to provide commercially viable, socially responsible outcomes.
The Founder and Director of trailblazing social enterprise - The Just Be Nice Project, Josh works daily to engage businesses, schools, organisations and communities in the process of creating extraordinary positive change in the world, through making ordinary positive change. Educating and engaging people while managing the resources necessary to ensure that everyone has assistance into housing, employment, and positive mental health outcomes. A non-executive director of one of Tasmania’s largest social service providers Colony 47, a member of the board of directors for the Port Phillip EcoCentre, an RUOK Day ambassador and recipient of a range of awards and scholarships for outstanding contributions to social impact and non-profit leadership, Josh is committed to improving and expanding social impact and equality of opportunity both domestically and abroad. A serial Ultra-Marathon runner with numerous ultras and long-distance run challenges as well as multiple 24hr challenges under his belt - Josh understands and teaches resilience, mental fortitude, hard work and how to keep going even when the going is tough.
Josh's goal is to constantly drive towards an outcome of genuine equality of opportunity for all people, build character, ask the tough questions and of course, Just Be Nice.
