Owain Wyn Evans is an award winning television presenter, and is known across the UK and beyond as the drumming weatherman. Owain brings a certain level of flamboyance and panache to everything he does.

Having worked as a BBC presenter for over 15 years, he is currently the senior weather presenter for Media City-based BBC North West Tonight – where you’ll see him not only delivering the forecast every evening, but also displaying a fine array of three-piece suits, brooches and pocket squares. Owain is an experienced UK-wide broadcaster, having presented programmes for BBC Radio 5Live and BBC Radio Wales as well as fronting items and digital films for The One Show, BBC Radio One, BBC Breakfast and Inside Out.

A semi-professional drummer, Owain has a love of all things musical and became known to audiences around the world in 2020 after energetically drumming along to the BBC News theme. Within weeks the clip had amassed over 5 million views worldwide. He is no stranger to a viral video, having produced a RuPaul’s Drag Race-themed weather forecast in 2017, as well as delivering a forecast in 9 different languages for International Mother Tongue Day in 2018 – Owain’s own mother tongue is Welsh.

Owain is a proud member and huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, and is regularly seen hosting pride events across the UK. In 2018, he produced a series of clips for Netflix alongside Queer Eye’s Karamo Brown for the UK Pride Season and is an ambassador for the LGBT Foundation.
