Alex is a familiar face on The One Show (BBC1), bringing warmth and humour to a huge variety of topics and live outside broadcasts.

After years of regular jobs plus Youth Theatre, ‘am-dram’ and a bit of stand up, Alex began his television career answering an on-air appeal for researchers on his favourite programme, Top Gear, and got the job. A life-long car nut, Alex got the chance to present on the show and has since carved a niche as a funny, intelligent and likeable presence on TV and Radio.

Alex has presented series on caravans, gadgets, cars and even Scalextric racing but he’s best known for his entertaining documentaries. These include Road Rage Revenge, Cheap Homes For Sale and Britain’s Really Disgusting Food in BBC3's highly popular Mischief strand. Following their success, Alex was given his own three-part BBC3 series, Britain’s Really Disgusting Food; Meat, Fish and Dairy which was nominated in the best news and current affairs category at the 2010 Broadcast Digital Television Awards. When repeated on BBC1, it proved twice as popular as the show usually occupying that slot. This led to the equally entertaining three-part series Secrets of the Superbrands for BBC3, which revealed how the top Technology, Fashion and Food companies make their millions, and probed the brains of consumers to discover why the top brands have such a hold over us.

On Radio, Alex wrote and hosted The Comedy Club on BBC Radio7 for eight years, interviewing top comedians and introducing contemporary comedy shows five nights a week.

Most recently Alex was part of the presenting team on The Classic Car Show (Channel 5), a landmark global TV series which truly captures the world of classic cars for the first time. Proof that Alex is popular with viewers of all ages, he has presented Junior Vets and can currently be seen on the BAFTA award winning series All Over The Workplace for CBBC.

Alex is also an experienced compere, having hosted corporate and charitable events as well as numerous car shows. He is the annual host of the prestigious London Classic Car Show at the ExCeL Arena.
