Moana Hope is a former AFLW player, now running her own traffic control business, having played two seasons with Collingwood then one more at North Melbourne. She is also a household name in the country having been featured on Australian Story, alongside fellow player Susan Alberti. Hope gained major exposure from this and as a result is a popular choice as a keynote speaker at functions and as a brand ambassador for a variety of businesses.

In 2017 she published her autobiography, My Way, which talks about her accomplishments in both sport and business being encouraging, especially in a climate where young women feel challenged to act on ambition. Her message to young women everywhere is to stay true to themselves and not feel like they have to change to be accepted.

"I don't think women get the same opportunities as men, and I want to see women shining in more areas of life. In sport, in business, everywhere." - Moana Hope

A dynamic forward, Hope has played in the forward fifty for over 10 years across state and national competitions and has amassed large hauls of goals throughout the seasons, cracking 100 goals in 2016. After playing Australian football competitively since she was 7, she took a few years break in her early twenties before rediscovering the love in 2014 after seeing the changing landscape of Women's Football in Australia.

Moana also appeared on the Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders (2018) and Australian Survivor: All Stars

As a player of the AFLW when it was at its beginning stages, she showed strong resilience and a positive mindset that led her to success. As well as her autobiography, Hope spends time as a guest speaker for young women to help them feel empowered and encourage them to be themselves.

Her experiences on Australian Survivor clearly represent the resilience she possesses, making for an inspirational impact.

Just wanted to say Moana was brilliant last week! She brought a real lightness to the event and had everyone laughing within a few minutes! We loved having her a part of the day and look forward to working with her in the future.

The session was well received, and while the focus was on LGBT+ inclusion in sport and the workplace, it was great that Moana touched on gender, race and disability too. It was definitely thought-provoking and has already started some good conversations around the office.
