Drafted from obscurity in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, Isaac's meteoric rise to an elite AFL player was immediate. Studying at the University of Ballarat in 2010, Isaac was like any other 21 year old country kid who loved his footy and having a kick with his mates at the Redan Football Club on the weekend.

After a dominant start to the 2010 season at Redan, Gerald Fitzgerald, the long time North Ballarat Roosters coach, invited Isaac to come down and play some Reserves football at the club. Playing a few games in the Reserves, Isaac quickly made the step up to the Senior team, making half a dozen appearances which included the 2010 VFL Premiership.

Upon being drafted to Hawthorn, Isaac turned himself into an offensive weapon using his natural endurance and speed to break open the opposition. Rarely missing a game, Isaac featured in all four Grand Final appearances, including the 2013, 14 & 15 Premierships and regularly featured in the top 10 in the Club Best & Fairest , including finishing third the clubs Best & Fairest in 2018.

Out of contract at the end of the 2020 season, Isaac decided on a change and was successfully traded to Geelong. Whilst the reasons were a mix of professional and lifestyle, Hawthorn would forever be a special place for him. In his first season in the hoops, Isaac was one of the teams best and most consistent performers in a campaign that ended in a Preliminary Final defeat to Melbourne.

Away from footy, Isaac has completed his Sports Management degree including his Masters. A terrific media talent and mad sports fan, Isaac has also held a regular spot on RSN’s Inner Sanctum talking all things sport and utilising his charismatic personality, as well as Fox Footy’s ‘The Bounce’ and Channel 7’s ‘Gameday’. In 2021, Isaac wrote regular columns for the Geelong Advertiser.

In addition to his media work, Isaac also has an active role in two business interests, Jamu Dining, a Malaysian inspired restaurant in Richmond, and Cricketer Exchange which is an online business placing amateur cricketers from overseas into local clubs.
