Aishling Sheridan is a Gaelic Football Star from County Cavan, Ireland and was signed as a rookie with Collingwood for the 2020 season.
Aishling was one of eighteen selected to go to Melbourne in September 2018 with the CrossCoders trial camp. She graduated from the CrossCoders program, which was a global initiative to give athletes from sports around the globe the opportunity to play AFLW.
After impressing at the camp, Aishling was invited out to Darwin to play with NT thunder for the beginning of their VFLW season, playing two VFLW games before signing with Collingwood. In Ireland she plays Gaelic Football at the highest level after climbing up through the underage ranks at both club and county level.
In 2013 she was part of the Intermediate All Ireland winning team with her County Cavan at just 17 years of age. In recent years she was unlucky to climb to Division 1 League with her county as they were narrowly defeated 2 consecutive years in a row in the Division 2 National League Final in both 2017 and 2018. However, she was selected on the Division 2 team of the year in both 2017 and 2018 for her performances throughout the season.
Aishling has also represented her University DCU at the highest level and has won One O’Connor Cup Final in 2018 whilst receiving a Sports scholarship for her years throughout University. Finishing of 2018, Aishling was chosen to be a part of the Ulster Ladies Interprovincial team competing against all other provinces in Ireland. She is hoping to bring her strengths and experiences from Gaelic Football onto the playing field with Collingwood for the upcoming season and enjoy the challenge ahead.
Outside of sport, Aishling graduated as an Athletic Therapist and Trainer in November 2018 and enjoys all things health and fitness. She has experience in coaching all levels of fitness, all ages, working in sport clinics and summer programs. She is currently a LIDL ambassador representing Ladies Gaelic football n Ireland.
