Chad Townsend is a premiership-winning halfback who enjoyed a distinguished 15-year career in the NRL before retiring in 2025 following a final season with the Sydney Roosters. A proven leader and game manager, Chad leaves behind a legacy of professionalism, resilience, and premiership glory.
A proud Cronulla junior, Chad achieved his dream in 2016 by helping deliver the Sharks their first-ever NRL Premiership. Across his career he also played for the New Zealand Warriors and North Queensland Cowboys (serving as co-captain), before finishing his playing days with the Roosters.
Off the field, Chad has established a strong presence as a media personality — hosting the “Chad Townsend Show”podcast and his YouTube channel — offering behind-the-scenes insight into elite sport, leadership, and life lessons. He is also an avid golf fan and has co-founded The Players Club, a golf business launched alongside fellow NRL stars. His blend of sporting achievement, entrepreneurial spirit, and communication skill makes him a compelling speaker for corporate, community, and sporting audiences.
