Mickle is an Australian track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. She has competed on the world stage for more than 10 years. In 2016, Mickle signed with the Fremantle Dockers Women’s side for the upcoming inaugural AFL Women’s competition. She ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in round 2 on debut, after missing round 1. Mickle announced her retired from AFLW shortly after her knee reconstruction to concentrate on her upcoming javelin events.
