Damien Martyn is a retired cricketer who played at the highest level of domestic, international, and Twenty20 cricket. Today, he lends his voice to cricket commentary teams around the world. 

Martyn made his domestic debut for Western Australia in 1991 with successful results, scoring 822 runs at an average of 51.37. He became the youngest ever captain of WA in the 1993/94 season, aged just 23, as well as leading the Australia A ODI side. 

The batsman first played for Australia in 1992 against the West Indies, however was regularly in and out of the Test team with fluctuating form throughout his early career. His determination and resilience as a cricketer and person is a contributing factor to his eventual success 

He secured a Test position in 2001, and until his retirement in 2006 notched up 67 Test matches, 13 Test centuries and 208 ODIs thanks to his elegant technique.
