Lachlan Lewis is the halfback for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Lachlan has rugby league in his blood as he is the nephew of former Queensland great and NRL Immortal, Wally Lewis. Lachlan grew up in Brisbane, Queensland and played his junior football with the Capalaba Warriors and Souths Logan Magpies.
On 30 June 2018, he played his first game for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in their round 16 clash with the Newcastle Knights. Lachlan went on to play the remaining nine games of the season and finished as the third best Bulldogs’ player in the Dally M voting, behind representative forwards Josh Jackson and David Klemmer.
Lachlan received the 2018 Steve Mortimer Bulldogs Rookie of the Year award in recognition of his outstanding first season with the club. Lachlan has garnered a lot of attention within the media, he has regularly been interviewed by journalists during the weekly media session at the Bulldogs training sessions. Channel Nine, Fox Sports and the various radio networks regularly approach Lachlan for interviews at half-time and full-time of his games. In 2018, Lachlan appeared on the NRL Footy Show in a special interview with Erin Molan discussing football, life and family.
The NRL launched their 2019 marketing campaign with a television advertisement focussing upon the young stars within the game. The NRL chose one player from each of the sixteen clubs to feature in the campaign. Lachlan was chosen as the Bulldogs’ player and was alongside other young stars including Jason Taumalolo, Kalyn Ponga, Nathan Cleary and Victor Radley. All of the players were chosen because of their rugby league talent, their personal values and the way each conducts themselves with fans and sponsors of the game.
Away from football, Lachlan is married and expecting his first child in May 2019. Lachlan and his wife own and operate an online retail store which sells unique, ethical and organic baby clothing and accessory.
In his spare time, Lachlan enjoys playing golf and is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering.
