Trent is the coach of the Fremantle AFLW team, taking them from 2nd last in their first two seasons to playing finals in his first season in charge in 2019.
The team then went through undefeated in 2020 and won their first final by a record margin before COVID-19 saw the AFLW season cancelled at that point.
He was one of four finalists for Coach of the Year in the RAC WA Sports awards and was awarded the J. J. Leonard for the best coach in WA as judged the West Australian Football Commission.
He played in the WAFL competition for Swan Districts and Peel Thunder but has made his mark as a coach, taking the Swan Districts colts (U18's) side from a wooden spoon to a premiership in one year before taking on the role of WA Women's 18's side.
His success in this role led to him obtaining the Fremantle AFLW Head Coaching position where his ability to get the best out of female athletes has come to the fore.
He is a teacher by trade, having taught at Wesley College for 12 years and has a wide range of experience in the media where has worked on radio and been an on-course presenter for Sky Channel.
