Born and bred in Melbourne, my life has always enjoyed an unrivaled passion and love for sport. I grew up admiring famous Australian sports heroes such as Jim Stynes, Dean Jones, Anna Meares, Cathy Freeman & Ian Thorpe.
Having been diagnosed with a neuromuscular disability at age 2, my childhood never held much hope of achieving my own sporting dreams. I keenly participated in all types of sports at school and with friends until I discovered my niche skills set and passion for table tennis at age 12.
Competing at various local clubs in the western suburbs of Melbourne, it wasn't until age 29 where a former Australian Para Table Tennis athlete approached me and invited me to participate in the Australian Para TT Championships.
Why did it take so long for me to be introduced to Para Sport?
