About me
Grace Brown transitioned from middle-distance running to cycling in 2016, at age 23, after stress fractures forced her to find a lower-impact sport. She quickly discovered her competitive edge, climbing to World Tour ranks in 2019. That year, she won the Australian Time Trial Championship and a stage in the Tour Down Under. In 2020, Grace claimed her first European victory at Brabantse Pijl and followed it with podium finishes at Liège-Bastogne-Liège and other prestigious races.
Her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020 showcased her resilience as she finished fourth in the individual time trial, narrowly missing the podium. In the years that followed, Grace secured multiple titles, including her second Australian Time Trial Championship in 2022 and gold at the Commonwealth Games. In 2023, she triumphed at the Women’s Tour Down Under and earned a second world championships silver medal in the time trial.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Grace delivered Australia’s first gold medal of the Games with a historic victory in the women’s individual time trial, conquering challenging conditions. In September 2024, she announced her retirement, leaving the sport with two World Championship silver medals and a legacy as one of Australia’s most successful cyclists.
