Grima was picked up by the North Melbourne Kangaroos in the rookie draft in 2008. After impressing in his first year at the club Grima was upgraded to the senior list in 2009. He was with North Melbourne Kangaroos for 2009 till 2015. He played 86 games for the club. Grimas career was ended due to a crippling back injury during the 2015 season. He then made a return to football in 2016 signing with the Essendon Bombers as a top up player during the supplement saga.
