Libbi Gorr is one of Australia's finest live hosts and broadcasters. Warm, witty and smart, Libbi entertains, inspires and motivates, bringing a unique blend of journalism and humour to all her work.
Libbi is the Breakfast host of the brand new digital DISRUPT RADIO, at the forefront of new broadcast technologies. Libbi can be heard on DAB+ in Melbourne Sydney and Brisbane, and across Australia on the internet with her Adult/talk /Empowered Mindset angle.
Key to Libbi’s portfolio is her exceptional live performance in hosting and events. Most recently, Libbi completed an Australian/NZ tour with acclaimed medico, Michael Mosely and his GP wife Claire Bailey, of the FAST 80 fame. Libbi also innovated the BOLD CONVERSATIONS series at Melbourne’s Malthouse Outdoor Theatre, with live discussions under the stars laced with humour, diversity and candour.
In fact, since first bursting onto TV screens as Elle McFeast alongside Andrew Denton in Live and Sweaty in 1991, Libbi has blazed a trail like no other, becoming Australia’s first solo late night TV host with Live and Sweaty, followed by McFeast Live from the Bowels of Parliament House and a slate of globally award-winning programs including Breasts, Sex, Guys and Videotape and My Big Bottom. However, she was effectively cancelled by the TV scene before cancelling was invented in the aftermath of her live TV interview with Australian hit man Mark Brandon Chopper Read, who unbeknownst to Gorr, arrived on set drunk.
Libbi found refuge at ABC Radio Melbourne & Victoria, presenting “This Weekend Life”, on Saturday and Sunday mornings for just on a decade. Her light, fun touch – on work, family, success, health and ‘lycra free wellness’ – was a ratings winner for the station until she left at the end of 2021. In this time, Libbi also published two books, Mummy Manners (an etiquette guide for managing other children's Mothers and assorted Mummy dilemmas) and The Bedtime Poem For Edible Children, both with Harper Collins.
Libbi has appeared on the BBC (Radio & TV) particularly during COVID, the Bushfires and commenting on all things Queen Elizabeth. In Australia, Libbi travelled Remote Communities ( NT) for ABC News and ABC News Breakfast and also filed reports for the ABC TV flagship current affairs program 7.30 across 2015 – 2018.
Libbi graduated from Melbourne University Law School in 1987 as a Gowrie scholar and Ormond College scholarship winner, and in recent years completed a course at Cranlana Centre for Ethical leadership
In 2023, Libbi was featured on The ABC’s Australian Story. The episode topped the ratings.
