A talented and experienced allrounder, Piepa Cleary brings energy and competitiveness every time she steps on the field. The right arm medium-fast bowler is a reliable wicket taker with the ability to bat in the middle order confidently bringing in quick runs, whilst also fielding with intent in key positions. Piepa’s passion is drawn from her connection and longevity in the game having represented WA in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) for 9 seasons, and Perth Scorchers for all 8 seasons since the inception of the Womens Big Bash League (WBBL) in 2015. Career highlights for Piepa include taking home a championship win in the 2019/20 season for WNCL and championship win in the WBBL|07 the following year in 2021. Piepa was also selected in the Australia A team to represent the country in both Sri Lanka and India. Piepa’s career ambitions is to have a long career for Western Australia and making a big impact on the culture of WA Cricket. Piepa is a born and raised proud Western Australian who grew up North of WA where she was able to enjoy the pleasures of boating and fishing in her spare time. Piepa is currently studying a Bachelor of Education at ECU and has a Cert II in Cricket Coaching. Long term, Piepa has ambitions to get involved in coaching and stay connected to Cricket, so she is able to give back to the sport and share with the younger players her experiences and knowledge. Piepa is particularly passionate about Mental Health awareness and started her own podcast, Strength in Vulnerability, which is a platform she uses to discuss and share stories with other individuals from the sporting world showcasing how important and positive it is to talk openly and honestly.
