Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson, has a personality that’s larger than life and a presence that is absolutely unforgettable. With one of the most recognisable faces, 'Jacko" is often described as approachable, open, friendly and downright funny; a true Aussie larrikin. A colourful and incredibly interesting past which includes traveling throughout stages in Australia during it's peak gangland times with mates, Mark "Chopper" Read and Roger Rogerson. These three, described as "The Kings of Cut-Throat Comedy" took their show on the road, "The Wild Colonial Psychos: Bandits on the Run". 

An Aussie Rules fanatic, Mark “Jacko” Jackson played his own unique style of footy for AFL Clubs Richmond, Melbourne, St Kilda and Geelong. A true showman, he gained fame on the field for tricks including performing a handstand in front of the Hawks full back, Kevin Moore and twirling the ball on his fingers like a basketball. He later became an Ambassador to Australian Rules Football throughout North America and was specifically requested by Total Sports Network for a campaign that resulted in International games being played throughout USA & Canada with Fosters Group becoming major sponsor. Karen Gruson, TSN publicist at that time, commented that she could not believe the impact and cut-through the tour had! 

Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson starred in an Internationally successful commercial campaign for Energiser, a Superbowl commercial in 1988, making him a recognisable face throughout the USA and Canada. He was the spokesperson for Energiser Batteries in the USA, Australia and New Zealand fronting a National anti-bullying campaign which was distributed throughout the Australian Public School System. He was also the spokesperson for Energiser Sports Drink, CFA smoke detectors, Jenny Craig and Queensland’ Health Department’s youth anti-smoking campaign. Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson also worked on an anti-drugs campaign in the United States and headed Western Australia’s Keep Australia Beautiful campaign.

A keen actor, Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson co-starred in the Australian movie Trojan Warrior with Stan Longinidis and Signal One (also known as Bullet Down Under) with Christopher Atkins. He also co-starred in the U.S. television series The Highwayman, an American action-adventure themed television series. 

Jacko furthered his cultural pursuits by recording the hit single I am an Individual, a combination of rap-like lyrics, Australian comedy and larrikinism that became a number one hit on the Australian singles chart. His book Jacko – Dumb Like A Fox remained on the best seller list for six weeks.

Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson was a high energy panel member on Network Nine’s The Footy Show, and a guest reporter on A Current Affair (Network Nine) with Mike Willisee. In addition, Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson was a guest television reporter on The Ernie Sigley Show.
