Adrian Buchan (Ace) is a down-to-earth, elite athlete who commits to balancing his role as a World Tour Surfer, brand ambassador, and his business interests as well as relishing in his role as a father to his 3 young children.

2021 was his 16th consecutive year on the WSL World Championship Tour, remaining inside the top 20 of the world rankings throughout his career. Making him the longest-serving surfer after Kelly Slater.

Ace has two World Tour wins; his first in the south of France, his second at the infamous Tahitian Teahupo’o. With long-term brand ambassadorships with Dragon Alliance, JSIndustries, Hydroflask, and True Protein - whilst being a marquee athlete for both Hurley and Nike for over a decade.
Growing up on NSW's Central Coast, Ace embodies the Australian coastal lifestyle. This has led him to develop a deep passion for protecting the environment, which he has advocated for through his ambassadorship with the Take3for the Sea foundation and WSL Pure.
In 2008 Ace published a children’s book, Macka's Barrel into the Dreamtime, which deals with Indigenous and environmental issues. And in 2020 Ace was the first ever recipient of the WSL Pure Award for outstanding
ocean advocacy.
Ace has gone on to serve as the World Pro Surfers Athlete Representative to the WSL, bridging the gap between the athletes and organisation on key issues as the tour evolved. Ace is the founding Board Member for “Surfers For Climate” - an organisation aimed at empowering and mobilising a movement of Surfers to protect planet ocean.
