When the red "ON AIR" sign flickers to life, Mark Beretta is a familiar face to millions of Australians.

As the Sport Presenter on ‘Sunrise,’ Australia’s top-rated breakfast TV show, Mark's words have chronicled the nation’s sports highs and lows. Yet, when the camera lens retracts and the studio lights dim, another, equally impactful side of Mark comes to light....a side devoted to philanthropy, community service, and national duty.

Mark's journey into the sporting world wasn’t born from mere observation; it started with participation. A 10-time Australian water ski champion, his relationship with sports runs deeper than the surface. This connection weaves through his dynamic career, where he's served as MC for high-profile events like the AFL’s Brownlow Medal and the Olympic Welcome Home Ceremonies. His talents even carried him beyond Australian shores to Buckingham Palace, where he was the only Australian to MC for Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh.

However, it’s not just sport and media that occupy Mark’s time; his dedication to causes close to his heart is unparalleled. For the past decade, Mark has been an active member of Tour de Cure, peddling thousands of kilometers across Australia’s varied terrain to raise over $70 million for cancer research. As a Board Member of the charity, he's more than just a cyclist; he's a cornerstone in a collective effort to make the world a healthier place.

But Mark’s service ethos extends further still. He's also an active member of the Army Reserves and has been honoured with the Australian Defence Medal for his service. This accolade isn't just a piece of metal and fabric; it's a symbol of his dedication to his country, echoing the commitment he shows in every other aspect of his life.

Away from the spotlight, Mark is a man committed to social change. He serves as an ambassador for foundations like Raise and the Fight Cancer Foundation, while also dedicating his time to sick children and struggling families. Recognitions like the Australian Father of the Year Award in 2019 and a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2021 affirm his impact on communities both large and small.

At the end of the day, when the cameras are off and the cycling gear is stowed, Mark finds his greatest joy in the company of his wife and two children. A man of many roles, he's most proud of his role as a devoted husband and father.

Mark Beretta is far more than the face you see on TV; he’s a beacon of altruism and service. Whether in front of the camera, on the back of a bicycle, or in Army Reserve uniform, Mark is committed to making a difference—one game, one cause, and one day at a time.
