Matthew Jurman is one of Australia's most exciting professional footballers and Socceroo with 8 caps and also played in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He is currently playing for the A-League team, Newcastle Jets FC.
Recognised early for his football skills he was invited to the FFA Center of Excellence at the Australian Institute of Sport, before joining his first semi-professional club at Sydney Olympic.
He joined the A-League in 2007 for Sydney FC, playing four seasons with the team, including winning the 09/10 season Premiership and Championship.
From there Matthew joined Brisbane A-League team the Brisbane Roar for two seasons, winning another Championship for 12/13 season.
Matthew returned to Sydney FC for another four seasons. Where he received three major awards for the 15/16 season, including Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Members’ Player of the Year.
Making his debut in October 2017 for the Australian National Team, the Socceroos, as part of the World Cup Qualifier team, he has established himself as a key defensive player ahead of the FIFA World Cup in June 2018.
Seizing the chance to play overseas proved to be a great career move for Matthew, receiving the K-League 2017 Newcomer of the Year award during his time with the Suwon Samsung Bluewings.
