British athletes hired for Sportemon Go social media campaign

The Brief

Sportemon Go is a revolutionary NFT-augmented reality sports trading platform that allows its users to hunt and collect NFTs of their favourite sporting heroes via a virtual-reality space as well as during sporting events. To spread the word about their platform in the UK, the company used Pickstar to connect with relevant British athletes for their summer social media campaign.

    Solution

The Sportemon Go team submitted a request to Pickstar, detailing their social media brief, budget and campaign objectives. Once this was submitted, it prompted a job notification to all of the British athletes registered on the Pickstar platform.

This delivered a notification to stars via the Pickstar app and allowed them to note whether they are interested in the commercial opportunity or not. From this star shortlist, Sportemon Go chose who they would like to partner with on their social media campaign.

They chose Professional Rugby Player Danny Care, Racing Driver Abbie Eaton and British Olympian Brinn Bevan. All three were instructed on the social deliverables before going ahead with the social media campaign. This included one Instagram Story, one Facebook post and one Twitter post, with measurable branded links back to the Sportemon Go website.

      Outcome

This social media campaign continues to be an ongoing success for Sportemon Go and has prompted further investment from the company into athletes on the Pickstar platform. As such, the company is working closely with Pickstar on a number of brand ambassadorships not only in the UK but also in Australia. All will be revealed on this exciting partnership very soon.
