Alicia Quirk (OAM) is a retired professional Australian Rugby 7’s player. She won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and a Silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is a 2x World Series Champion and a World Cup Bronze Medalist (2018). She returned to playing after the birth of her daughter Matilda and retired shortly after. She was a part of the historic triple crown winning wider squad for the Australian Women's 7's in 2022. She currently is a mother of 2 and resides in Japan for half of the year. 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

  • Moved to Sydney in 2014 and become one of the first Australian Women's 7's players to be professionally contracted by the Australian Rugby Union. 
  • Named player of the tournament in the Dubai leg of the 2014 World Series event
  • World Series champions for the 2015/2016 season with this being the first ever Australian team male or female to win the World Series 
  • 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist, playing every minute of the Olympic tournament 
  • Awarded the Order of Australia Medal in Jan 2017
  • Inducted into the Wagga Wagga Sporting Hall of Fame
  • Competed at the first ever Commonwealth Games for Women’s 7’s at the Gold Coast in 2018 bringing home a Silver Medal. Played every minute of the tournament
  • 2017/2018 World Series Champion. 2nd World Series Win in 3 years. 
  • Bronze Medalist at the 2018 Rugby 7’s World Cup

  • Invited to play Rugby via a letter in the mail in 2011 on the back of winning the Touch Football World Cup for Australian Open Women's
  • Has a degree in Physiotherapy

  • Played domestically in Japan after giving birth to her daughter Matilda there.
