David Fifita, at 24 years of age, continues to make his mark in the NRL as a powerful second rower recently signed for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, having started his career with the Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans. In 2025, he has surpassed 110 NRL appearances, building on an already impressive career.
A proven force at the representative level, Fifita helped lead the Queensland Maroons to victory in the 2023 State of Origin series, playing two crucial matches. To date, he has featured in 7 State of Origin games for Queensland, showcasing his impact on the big stage.
Highly versatile, Fifita’s skill set allows him to thrive not only as a second rower but also when called upon as a Lock or Centre. His representative career is extensive, having played for the Indigenous All Stars, the Prime Minister’s XIII, and Australia’s Rugby League 9s team. In 2022, he proudly represented Tonga at the Rugby League World Cup.
Recognized early in his career, Fifita was a standout for the Australian Schoolboys and captained Queensland’s U16 team. His outstanding 2023 season earned him several accolades, including the Gold Coast Titans Members MVP and the prestigious NRL Dally M Second Rower of the Year award.
