Terry McFlynn was born in Northern Ireland in 1981. Born in a very small village of only 400 occupants, life was very sheltered. This was a period in Irish history known as the 'The Troubles'. Gaelic football and Hurling (Irish Sports) were the only pastimes offered in his 100% Catholic village. At an early age Terry decided to play soccer (seen by many as a Protestant sport), this decision was met with a lot of animosity and was frowned upon by his peers, teachers and the community as a whole. Through his determination, focus and will to succeed Terry signed for English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers at the age of 15. Terry has continued to play professional football for the past 17 years and in 2005 this journey led him to Sydney FC.

Terry was a foundation player of A-League side Sydney Fc and as of 2010, he is the only remaining foundation player at the club. Terry has captained Sydney Fc for 4 years and has played more than 200 games for the club in all competitions.

Terry has also played for and captained Northern Ireland national team at every age level except for full senior representative. Terry is married with 2 young children and counts family the most important element in his life.
