Scott sustained a L1-L2 incomplete spinal injury while snowboarding in Canada 17 years ago.  He works full-time, is married to Clair and has two children, Oliver and Madeline.

Since his injury Scott has made the most of his abilities and has captained the Adelaide Thunder Wheelchair basketball team in the National Wheelchair Basketball League (NWBL). Scott has been a member of the National Australian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team ‘The Rollers’ since 2006 and lived and played basketball professionally in Italy in 2010. 

In 2014 a new opportunity has presented itself, with Paratriathlon being included in the 2016 Paralympic games, and although he was not selected for these games, he more recently was a member of the Australian Commonwealth Games Team and finished 5th in paratriathlon. He has had raced triathlon all over the world and has a world ranking as low as 9th. He has also raced multiple world elite paratriathlon championships and placed 9th in consecutive years. 

Scott is also a co-founder of The Good Scout Travel Co, which is a travel platform aimed at those with a physical disability and won the Finders University New Venture Institute Award 2018, and Winner on the University of Adelaide eChallenge Social Enterprise award 2017.
