The Best Super Bowl Ads Featuring Stars

Dan Levy with M&Ms. Matthew McConaughey with Doritos. Will Ferrell with General Motors.

The 2021 Super Bowl ads were littered with stars bringing brands to life through their TV spots.

We take a look at a few of the best Super Bowl ads where stars dominated.

Pickstar connects brands with thousands of sports stars and celebrities to execute campaigns, brand ambassadorships, TV commercials, and more. Find out how

General Motors - No way, Norway feat. Will Ferrell

Will Ferrell instantly makes any ad better. And selling GM’s new electric vehicle range was no exception as he went on a journey (with some additional cameos from Kenan Thompson and Akwafina) to take down the country that drives the most electrical vehicles per capita - Norway.

State Farm - Drake from State Farm feat. Drake, Paul Rudd, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes

In this cheesy and playful spot from State Farm, NFL quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes discuss their ‘stand-ins’ and how little they look like them (Paul Rudd standing in for Patrick Mahomes!).

But the centre of the piece is Drake...being put back in his place by ‘Jake from State Farm’.

M&Ms - Come Together Feat. Dan Levy

Newly-crowned Emmy winner Dan Levy delivers the punch line on this beautifully paced M&Ms spot where the chocolate giant suggests using M&Ms as a way to apologise for everything from kicking someone’s seat on a plane to being called Karen.

Doritos - #FlatMatthew Feat. Matthew McConnaughey

Doritos release 3D ‘puff Doritos’ so how else do you launch it but to create a paper version of Matthew McConnaughey to walk around talking about how tough his life is without being in 3D in a way only he can.

It’s technically impressive and creatively so ridiculous, but it works so well.

Tide - Jason Alexander hoodie feat. Jason Alexander

Jason Alexander’s face features more than Jason Alexander himself. But this is a genius piece of story-telling from Tide, mixed in with great pop-culture references from Seinfeld.

The ad features the song “Believe it or Not”, a nod to the Seinfeld episode ‘The Susie’ where George (Jason Alexander) uses it as his answering machine message.

Cheetos - It wasn’t me Feat. Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Shaggy

A genuinely relatable problem (your partner stealing your snacks) + A cheesy remake of a Shaggy classic = A damn solid Super Bowl spot.

Uber Eats - Shameless Manipulation feat. Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, and Cardi B

The hit movie Wayne’s World is the centrepiece of this Uber Eats spot, which takes the piss out of itself from start to end, including the ‘shameless celebrity endorsement’ line with Cardi B.

It’s playful, but it also gets across the core message - Eat Local - really well.
